CHANDLER, Ariz. - "To travel to Arizona in March, with no previous practice, and finish in a dead heat with a very good local Division II school was something to be proud of," were the words of UW-Parkside coach Mark Olsen after watching his team end up atop the Dutch Desert Shootout leaderboard.

The Rangers and Grand Canyon University tied for the top spot, each carding a team score of 288, which was four over par. The event was contested at Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona. The course is a par 71 and is 6,782 yards.

Mike Keller and Andy Hansen joined Grand Canyon's Tyler Wooldridge for the low score, all firing a two-under-par 69. Other Rangers on the "Green Team" (UWP also fielded a "White Team" or B squad) included Keith Buntrock, 74; Bob Tierney, 76; and Andrew Troyanek, 77.

"This was a good performance for our team," added Olsen. "We are certain to get better results from Buntrock, Tierney and Troyanek as the spring progresses."

Other teams competing were NCAA Division I Colgate along with Central College.

Next up for the Rangers will be the Parkside Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana, Friday-Saturday, March 26-27.
