SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-  In its final tune-up before the postseason, the sixth-ranked UIndy women’s golf team notched a fourth-place finish at the Drury Lady Panther Shootout Saturday and Sunday.  The Greyhounds (647) were led by a pair of top ten finishers in Lyndsay McBride (Bristol, Ind./Northridge) and Ashley Seaton (Sellersburg, Ind./Silver Creek).

McBride carded efforts of 79 and 78 to share seventh place at 13-over.  Competing as an individual, Seaton went 78 and 80 to notch her first top-ten showing of the spring.

Junior Allison Tyler (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) was just one stroke back of Seaton at 159 (80-79), good for a share of 11th in the 69-golfer field.  Senior Sarah Prascsak (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) rebounded from a first-round 88 with a 76 Sunday to jump from 43rd to 26th.  Sophomore Darin Pinnick (Washington, Ind./Washington) and freshman Megan Kiley (Leo, Ind./Leo), UIndy’s second individual competitor, shot matching 172s to tie for 40th.

McBride led all players in par-3 scoring (2.5), while Tyler paced the field on the par 4s (4.1).

Each of the top-five teams appears in the latest Golf World/NGCA Women’s Coaches’ Poll, including winner Grand Valley State.  The third-ranked Lakers carded team scores 307 and 294 to finish 25-over par, 30 strokes ahead of runner-up and 16th-ranked Ashland.  GVSU sophomore Sarah Hoffman – one of three Lakers in the top five – took medalist honors with a four-over 148.

On deck for UIndy is the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill. Apr. 25-26.  The Greyhounds have won a league-high four GLVC titles, including last year’s crown.
