Northern Kentucky Holds First-Day Lead at GLVC Golf Championships

DAY ONE RESULTS

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky men's golf team fired a second-round score of 287 to complete the first day at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at Otter Creek Golf Course with a two-stroke lead. The Norse will look to complete the title chase during the final round on Friday.

Northern Kentucky finished the 36 holes on Thursday with a 300-287--587 and leads defending champion Indianapolis by two strokes. The 287 shot by the Norse was a new second-round championship record for events held at Otter Creek.

Junior Danny Lewis (Morrow, Ohio) paced the Norse with an even-par 72-72--144. Lewis is tied for second place with Drury's Kyle Martin (Harriso, Ark.).

UIndy's Seth Fair (Brownsburg, Ind.) posted the day's top score by shooting a two-under-par 70-72--142.

UIndy held the lead after the first 18 holes by shooting an even-par 288.
