NKU Claims 2010 GLVC Men's Golf Championship
FINAL RESULTS
COLUMBUS, Ind. - Northern Kentucky University claimed the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday afternoon, finishing the two-day event at Otter Creek Golf Course with a 17-over-par 881.
The Norse defeated defending GLVC champion Indianapolis (886) by five strokes. Drury placed third at the meet with a 36-hole score of 892.
Northern Kentucky was led by junior Danny Lewis who claimed medalist honors by posting a 72-72-69--213, good for 3-under-par.
Lewis outdistanced Drury's Kyle Martin (217) at the event by four strokes, with UIndy's Seth Fair, the 36-hole leader, finishing third with a 218.
Joining Lewis, Martin and Fair on the All-GLVC Team following the meet were Rockhurst's Clarke Fry and Drury's Andrew Funk. The remaining All-GLVC members will be named following the spring golf season.
