Drury Women Claim Fourth GLVC Tennis Title

SPRINGFIELD , Mo. – The 18th-ranked Drury women’s tennis team swept doubles play, 3-0, against Northern Kentucky at Cooper Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon to earn the school’s fourth consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference championship. The Panthers earned a 5-0 decision in the tournament finale.
At No. 1 doubles, Khrystsina Tryboi and Katia Bon defeated Kristen Sunday and Michelle Schirmann, 8-4. The Panthers duo also grabbed the decisive single wins against the Norse as Tryboi posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Stephanie Isaacs and Bon defeated Sunday, 6-4, 6-0.
Abbey Sharpe and Plagie Gamo earned a victory at No. 2 doubles, 8-2, and Anna Lustig and Valentine Lambrechts won at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Druy (19-1), the top seed in the GLVC West Division, earned a berth to the GLVC finals with wins over Bellarmine and Missouri-St. Louis on Friday.
Northern Kentucky (11-4) collected its spot in the final with wins over Quincy and Rockhurst on Friday.
In Saturday’s third-place match, Rockhurst posted a 5-0 win over Rockhurst.
