TIFFIN, Ohio - Kelly Gallagher scored off a pass from Katie Pritchard just three minutes into overtime, lifting Drury to a 1-0 victory over Tiffin in women's soccer action here on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers, who lost 2-1 on a last-second overtime goal in their opener at Ashland Thursday, squared their record at 1-1 on the season. Tiffin fell to 1-1.
Mandi Little was also credited with an assist on the game-winner by Gallagher, the second goal of her career for the sophomore midfielder. The Panthers outshot Tiffin 18-12 in the contest, including 8-6 in shots on goal.
"We worked on some of our weaknesses from Thursday night and the ladies responded well," Drury coach Alf Bilbao said. "We worked for each other today for 90-plus minutes. It was a total team effort."
Senior keeper Jessie Sanderson picked up her first shutout of the season and school-record 31st of her career, coming up with six saves in the contest against the Dragons, who had defeated Bellarmine - the preseason choice for No. 3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference coaches poll - by a 3-0 score on Friday.
The Panthers will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Monday when they visit Lewis in a noon start in Romeoville, Ill.
