HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Mohammad Salhieh posted a goal in the 31st minute to lead 10th-ranked Northern Kentucky to a 1-0 win over visiting Lewis on Sunday afternoon in GLVC men’s soccer action. Salhieh’s goal came unassisted from outside the box and moved the Norse to 9-1 overall and to 7-1 in the GLVC. Ben Dorn made three saves in goal for the Norse to earn the shutout victory.
Indianapolis 5, Kentucky Wesleyan 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
OWENSBORO, Ky. – Five different players scored for Indianapolis on Sunday as the Greyhounds toppled host Kentucky Wesleyan, 5-0. Ryan Barnett scored the game-winner in the third minute on an assist from Matt Franco. Kevin Eggert, Bobby Adkins and Casey Castle all added first half goals as the Greyhounds took a 4-0 halftime advantage and Devin Brown tallied a goal in the 70th minute to complete the scoring. Justin Roberts made three saves to earn the shutout. UIndy (8-2, 7-1) will host Bellarmine on Friday and Kentucky Wesleyan (2-9, 0-8) will head to UW-Parkside.
Bellarmine 2, UW-Parkside 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine notched a 2-0 win over visiting Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday afternoon in men’s soccer action. Cole Page scored the game-winner for the Knights on a penalty kick in the 20th minute and Robert Bowling added an insurance goal for Bellarmine in the 71st minute on an assist from Don Schiavi. Bellarmine outshot the Rangers 24-7 and Blake Hunter earned the shutout in goal with two saves. Bellarmine (5-5, 4-4) will next travel to Indianapolis on Friday and UW-Parkside (5-4-1, 3-4-1) is set to host Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday.
Missouri-St. Louis 4, Missouri S&T 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ST. LOUIS – Missouri-St. Louis handed 7th-ranked Missouri S&T its second consecutive loss with a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon. Luc Wells scored in the 24th minute to record the game-winning goal for the Tritons (5-2-3, 4-2-2) and then added an insurance goal in the 52nd minute. Bruce Jordan and Almin Sabotic also tallied goals in the second half as UMSL pulled away. Tim Boruff recorded the shutout for UMSL with four saves. UMSL will travel to William Jewell on Friday and Missouri S&T (7-3, 5-3) is set to host UIS on Friday.
Drury 1, Maryville 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ST. LOUIS – Nick Ammann scored the game-winner in the 75th minute to lift visiting Drury to a 1-0 win at Maryville on Sunday afternoon. Stephen Conner had four saves in goal for the Panthers who moved to 7-4 overall and to 5-3 in the GLVC. Maryville (3-7-1) fell to 2-6 in the GLVC with the loss and will visit Rockhurst on Friday. Drury is set to host Quincy on Friday.
Saint Joseph’s 0, Southern Indiana 0 (2OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Saint Joseph’s and Southern Indiana battled to a scoreless tie on Sunday afternoon. Southern Indiana goalkeeper Ben Dempsey and Saint Joseph’s goalkeeper Michael Korman each recorded five saves to keep their opponents scoreless. Southern Indiana outshot the Pumas in the match, 20-11. Saint Joseph’s (4-4-2, 4-2-2) will host No. 10 Northern Kentucky on Friday and Southern Indiana (1-8-1, 0-7-1) is scheduled to travel to Lewis on Friday.
Rockhurst 5, Quincy 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
QUINCY, Ill. – Rockhurst exploded for five goals on Sunday afternoon to pick up a key road win at Quincy in men’s soccer action. The Hawks (7-2, 6-2) scored three times in the first half, including two early goals by Nick McDonald. He scored the game-winner in the fourth minute and then added a second in the 13th minute on assists from Keith Williams and Mark Magee. Nate Siesener added a goal in the 41st minute on a Magee assist. Magee added a goal of his own in the 59th minute and then assisted on a goal by Jake Grimes in the 75th minute. Ryan Bass earned the shutout with a pair of saves for Rockhurst who will next host Maryville on Friday. Quincy (6-3-1, 5-2-1) will head to Drury on Friday.
William Jewell 3, Illinois Springfield 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Pete Nechvatal scored in the 45th minute on an assist from Cole Prather to help William Jewell to a 3-0 road win at Illinois Springfield on Sunday. Troy Green and Forrest McCurren added second half goals for the Cardinals and Nathan Seider and Prather each finished with two assists. Justin Schmidt earned the shutout for William Jewell with five saves. William Jewell outshot the host Prairie Stars, 17-6. The Cardinals (5-5, 4-4) will host UMSL on Friday and Illinois Springfield (0-7-1, 0-6-1) will head to No. 7 Missouri S&T on Friday.
