OWENSBORO, Ky. – Haris Dzaferbegovic scored with less than two minutes to play in regulation on Sunday afternoon to lift Kentucky Wesleyan to a 3-2 win over visiting Illinois Springfield. Kentucky Wesleyan (3-14, 1-13) got on the board in the ninth minute on a Ryan Brewer goal to take a 1-0 lead. After UIS tied the match on Tony Holtschult’s goal in the 18th minute, Alex Zapata put the Panthers on top again in the 33rd minute on an assist from Dzaferbegovic. The Prairie Stars tied the match on a goal from Brandon Belcon in the 78th minute, before Dzaferbegovic put KWC on top for good with his game-winner. KWC will visit Southern Indiana on Wednesday in the regular season finale, while UIS (0-13-2, 0-12-2) will host Quincy.
Missouri-St. Louis 0, Bellarmine 0 (2OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Missouri-St. Louis and Bellarmine battled to a scoreless tie in a GLVC men’s soccer match on Sunday afternoon. UMSL goalkeeper Tim Boruff made six saves and Bellarmine’s Blake Hunter tallied four saves in the defensive struggle. Bellarmine outshot UMSL in the match 15-10, including a 4-1 edge in the overtime sessions. UMSL (7-5-4, 6-5-3) will conclude the regular season at Maryville on Wednesday and Bellarmine (9-6-1, 8-5-1) will host Northern Kentucky.
Quincy 1, Southern Indiana 1 (2OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southern Indiana and Quincy each tallied first-half scores on Sunday afternoon but were unable to find the back of the net throughout the remainder of the game and finished in a 1-1 tie. Rush Dugger put the Eagles on the scoreboard first in the eighth minute on assists from James Kennedy and Tyler White, but Quincy was able to respond with just eight seconds to play in the first half on Grant Ellison’s 14th goal of the season. He was assisted on the game-tying score by Jake Bond. Southern Indiana (4-10-2, 3-9-2) will host Southern Indiana on Wednesday, while Quincy (9-5-2, 8-4-2) travels to UIS.
Indianapolis 3, William Jewell 1 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
LIBERTY, Mo. - After falling behind in the first half 1-0 at William Jewell on Sunday, Indianapolis rallied to defeat the host Cardinals 3-1 behind a hat trick from Casey Castle. William Jewell scored first on the afternoon on a Forrest McCurren score in the 38th minute. Castle rallied the Greyhounds by scoring unassisted in the 47th, 48th and 83rd minutes. The win clinched a spot in the GLVC Tournament for the Greyhounds who are now 10-4 in the GLVC and 11-5 overall. UIndy will host Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday and William Jewell (10-7, 8-6) will travel to Rockhurst.
Lewis 2, Drury 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Aloisio Barros found the net twice on Sunday afternoon to lead Lewis to a 2-0 win over host Drury. Barros scored his first goal of the match in the 21st minute on an assist from George Thomson. He added a second from seven-yards out on an assist from Dale Malcolm-Adams. Barros now has seven goals on the season and Drury has improved to 8-7-1 overall and 8-5-1 in the GLVC. The Flyers will next host UW-Parkside on Wednesday, while Drury (10-7, 8-6) will square off at Missouri S&T on Wednesday.
No. 12 Rockhurst 5, Saint Joseph’s 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
KANSAS CITY – Nick McDonald registered a hat trick to lead host Rockhurst to a 5-0 win over Saint Joseph’s in GLVC men’s soccer action on Sunday. McDonald scored in the 17th minute on an assist from Lucas DeRossi to secure the game-winner. He added a gaol in the 19th minute on an assist from Mark Magee and tallied a third in the 20th minute on assists from Magee and Kyle Miller. Rockhurst moved the scored to 4-0 on a Miller penalty kick in the 24th minute and Michael McDonald added the final tallyin the 72nd minute. Rockhurst (12-2-1, 11-2-1) will host William Jewell on Wednesday and Saint Joseph’s is scheduled to visit Indianapolis.
UW-Parkside 1, Missouri S&T 1 (2OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ROLLA, Mo. – UW-Parkside and Missouri S&T fought to a 1-1 tie in a GLVC men’s soccer match on Sunday afternoon. Spencer Bursten scored his scored the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute on an assist from Tim Thao to give UW-Parkside an early 1-0 lead. Missouri S&T tied the match in the 70th minute on a goal from Trent Doerner. He was assisted on the game-tying goal by J.J. Bilyeu. UW-Parkside (7-7-2, 5-7-2) will conclude the regular season at Lewis on Wednesday and S&T (10-4-2, 8-4-2) will host Drury.
