CHICAGO - Senior guard Jadee Rooney scored a game-high 24 points and fellow senior Amy Selk added 23 points and six rebounds to lead the UW-Parkside women's basketball team to a 60-53 win at Loyola on Friday night. The Rangers collected the win over the Horizon League school in their first of two exhibition games against D-I opponents this fall.
UW-Parkside held Loyola to a 32.3 percent shooting effort on the night, including a 2-for-18 performance from the three-point line. The Rangers, although also struggling from the floor, hit 18-of-20 free throws and held a slight edge (41-38) on the boards.
Rooney and Selk combined for 47 of the Rangers' 60 points on the night and the Rangers scored 20 points in the paint. They also had eight points off 13 Loyola turnovers.
UW-Parkside will next travel to Wisconsin-Madison on Nov. 5.
