No. 21 Lewis 3, Wayne State 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-21)

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – No. 21 Lewis defeated Wayne State (MI) on Wednesday night in a non-conference neutral site match, 3-0. The Flyers hit .314 on the evening and were led by Danielle Mount who had 10 kills and five blocks, while hitting at a .381 clip. Hannah Koeneman added nine kills and Jen Krumwiede and Colleen Mitros each posted eight kills. Leigh Barea notched 37 assists and nine digs in the win. Lewis (11-4) will next host Illinois Springfield on Saturday.

Missouri Baptist 3, Missouri S&T 1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-21, 25-22)

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T fell in non-conference action to Missouri Baptist, 3-1, on Wednesday night. The Miners were paced by Erin Bekebrede who finished with a double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs. Jackie Zellmer posted a team-high 16 kills and a .481 hitting percentage. Setter Jennifer Costello notched 48 assists in the four sets. Missouri S&T (13-5) will host Southern Indiana on Saturday.

Illinois Springfield 3, Benedictine 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-15)

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois Springfield snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Benedictine  on Tuesday night. The Prairie Stars held Benedictine to a negative-.019 hitting percentage in the win and were guided by Annie Nottingham who had 14 kills and a .480 hitting percentage. Rebeka Pruemer added 28 assists and seven digs. UIS (3-14) will next travel to Lewis on Saturday.

Missouri-St. Louis 3, McKendree 0 (25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14)

LEBANON, Ill. – Four different players reached double-digit kills for Missouri-St. Louis on Wednesday night as the Tritons picked up a 3-1 win over McKendree. Shelby Crawford posted a team-high 15 kills for the Tritons (11-5) and Corrine Hoekstra added 14 kills and a .522 hitting percentage. Weslie Gaff and Erin Higgins added 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Setter Annah McNulty averaged nearly 15 assists per set as she tallied 58 to pace the attack. UMSL will travel to Saint Joseph’s on Saturday.
