INDIANAPOLIS – Oliver Wesley pushed a goal past Northern Kentucky goalkeeper Ben Dorn to break a scoreless tie and lift Indianapolis to a 1-0 win in double overtime. Wesley, who was assisted by Micah Uemura, scored the game-winner in the second minute of the second overtime session and gave UIndy (10-2) sole possession of first place in the GLVC standings with a 9-1 record. UIndy goalkeepers Justin Roberts and Andrew Verhonik combined for five saves to earn the shutout over the 4th-ranked Norse. It was NKU’s first overtime loss since 2008. UIndy will host Missouri S&T on Friday, while NKU (10-2, 8-2) travels to Quincy.
Quincy 2, Missouri S&T 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ROLLA, Mo. – Jordan Roberts’ goal in the ninth minute on Sunday afternoon lifted Quincy to a 2-0 win at Missouri S&T in a men’s soccer match. Roberts was assisted on the goal by Steve McAnany. Grant Ellison tallied his 11th goal of the season in the final seconds of the first half to provide insurance. Drew Duncan made three saves for the Hawks to earn the shutout. Quincy (8-3-1, 7-2-1) will host Northern Kentucky on Friday and S&T (7-4-1, 5-4-1) is slated to visit Indianapolis for its next match.
No. 23 Rockhurst 2, Missouri-St. Louis 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 23 Rockhurst won its sixth straight match with a 2-0 decision over visiting Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday. Nick McDonald scored the game-winner in the 12th minute on an assist from Mark Magee. The insurance goal for the Hawks (9-2, 8-2) was provided by Magee in the 25th minute on an assist Ruben Perez. Ryan Bass earned the shutout in goal for Rockhurst with three saves. The Hawks will head to Lewis on Friday and Missouri-St. Louis (5-4-3, 4-4-2) will host Kentucky Wesleyan.
Drury 3, Illinois Springfield 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury rolled to a 3-0 win over visiting Illinois Springfield on Sunday afternoon in GLVC men’s soccer action. The Panthers (8-5-0, 6-4-0) received the game-winner from Jack Mathis in the fifth minute on an assist from Gerardo Salas. Michael Yuede and Ryan Haas each added second half goals to provide a cushion. Stephen Conner notched the shutout in goal with three saves. UIS (0-9-2, 0-8-2) will host Bellarmine on Friday and Drury will head to Saint Joseph’s.
Lewis 7, Kentucky Wesleyan 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Seven different Lewis Flyers found the net on Sunday helping their club to a 7-0 win over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan. Michael Pyle scored the first and eventual game-winner in the seventh minute on assists from David Pyle and George Thomson. Cristian Ramirez and Aloisio Barros each added first half goals to give the Flyers a 3-0 advantage at the break and Thomson, Dale Malcolm-Adams, Robens Decisu and Julian Montiel all added a goal in the second half. Lewis (6-6, 6-4) will host Rockhurst on Friday while Kentucky Wesleyan (2-11, 0-10) heads to Missouri-St. Louis.
William Jewell 4, Maryville 1 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
LIBERTY, Mo. – Troy Green scored four times on Sunday afternoon to provide all of the offense in William Jewell’s 4-1 win over Maryville. Green scored twice in the first half with the first goal of the match coming in the sixth minute on an assist from Forrest McCurren and the game-winner coming the 11th minute on an assist from Cole Prather. David Fox and Mitch Williams assisted on Green’s second half goals. Nick Doherty tallied Maryville’s lone goal on the afternoon. William Jewell (7-5, 6-4) will travel to Truman State on Tuesday for a non-conference match and Maryville (3-9-1, 2-8-0) is scheduled to host Southern Indiana on Friday.
Bellarmine 2, Saint Joseph’s 1 (2OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
RENSSELAER, Ind. – Jordan Beckles scored in the eighth minute of the second overtime on Sunday afternoon to give Bellarmine a 2-1 win at Saint Joseph’s. Bellarmine (6-6, 5-5) had taken an early 1-0 lead in the match on a goal by John Cantrell but Saint Joseph’s was able to tie the match on a goal by jeff Grider in the 80th minute. Blake Hunter earned the win in goal for Bellarmine with seven saves. Bellarmine will head to UIS on Friday and Saint Joseph’s (4-6-2, 4-4-2) is scheduled to play host to Cedarville on Tuesday.
Southern Indiana 1, UW-Parkside 0 (OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SOMERS, Wis. – Southern Indiana won its first GLVC match of the year on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 decision at UW-Parkside in overtime. Rush Dugger headed in the game-winner in the sixth minute off a cross from Miles Durham. Ben Dempsey recorded the shutout for the Eagles with five saves. USI (2-9-1, 1-7-1) will visit Maryville on Friday and UW-Parkside (6-5-1, 4-5-1) is scheduled to host William Jewell on Friday.
