UW-Parkside 2, Quincy 1 (OT) - BOX SCORE | RECAP
ALLENDALE, Mich.- It took just less than four minutes into extra minutes for the Rangers to extend their season in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional, with a golden goal at the 93:42 mark giving Wisconsin-Parkside the 2-1 win over Quincy.
The five-seeded Rangers (13-3-2) got on the board first in the contest, with a Crystal Chalery scoring her third goal of the year. Shannon Becker brought the ball up the left side, and passed it to Chalery in front of the goal for the score, putting Wisconsin-Parkside up 1-0 at the 14:42 mark.
Brittany Casey tied the match for four-seeded Quincy (15-5-2) in the 64th minute, scoring off of a corner kick that pulled the Ranger goalie out. The contest remained tied through the end of regulation.
Wisconsin-Parkside took the win on Stephanie Barsuli's golden goal in overtime. Barsuli's eighth goal of the season was an unassisted play, sending the Rangers on in NCAA competition.
The Rangers advance to face top-seeded Grand Valley State Sunday at 2 p.m.
Bellarmine 3, Rockhurst 0 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.- No. 3 seeded Bellarmine took a 3-0 win in the NCAA Regional first round over six-seeded Rockhurst.
Bellarmine took the lead in the first half, with Chelsea McCarty scoring in the 23rd minute. Lauren Boyd assisted on the play, which was good for McCarty's fifth of the year.
The Knights added their second score in the 80th minute, with Allyson Palmer tallying her third goal of the season on assists from Alex Kowalski and Abby Janszen. Palmer scored again just more than four minutes later to push the Bellarine lead to 3-0, on a helper from Melanie Stippler.
Rockhurst out-shot the Knights 13-8 in the match, and took two corner kicks to Bellarmine's one on the night.
The Knights advance to play the bracket's two-seed, Northern Kentucky, Sunday at 1 p.m.
