LOUISVILLE- After suffering their first loss of the season yesterday, the Screaming Eagles got back to the winning side of things with a decisive 73-53 win over Coker in the MetroMedical Thanksgiving Classic at Bellarmine Sunday. Anna Hackert, who was named to the Classic's All-Tournament team, poured in 29 points and added 12 rebounds to lead Southern Indiana (5-1). The Screaming Eagles out-rebounded the Cobras 62-39 in the win, and will open the conference season at Lewis Thursday night.
UW-Parkside 62, Upper Iowa 36 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
SOMERS, Wisc.- The #18 Rangers picked up a non-conference win over the visiting Upper Iowa Peacocks, 62-36, Sunday afternoon. Jaleesa Trussell led the Rangers (5-1) with 12 points, while Brittany Beyer and Kaitlyn Bettiga each chipped in 10 points in the victory. The Peacocks out-rebounded Wisconsin-Parkside 39-29 in the contest, but 31 turnovers by Upper Iowa to just 15 by the Rangers helped UWP to the win. Next up for Wisconsin-Parkside is the start of GLVC play Thursday, as the Rangers will host Kentucky Wesleyan.
St. Catharine 73, Bellarmine 70 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
LOUISVILLE- St. Catharine took down its second undefeated GLVC team in as many days, taking a 73-70 win over host Bellarmine in the finale of the MetroMedical Thanksgiving Classic Sunday. The Knights (4-1) were led by Therese Montano, who put up 23 points in the loss, while Betsy Goodin and Darion Hutchinson each had 11 for Bellarmine in the loss. Allison Osen grabbed 10 boards, as the Knights and the Patriots both had 41 rebounds in the game. Bellarmine opens the conference slate Thursday night at UIndy.
Ashland 81, Saint Joseph's 42 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
ASHLAND, Ohio- The Pumas (3-2) dropped an 81-42 decision to host Ashland in Sunday action at the Holiday Inn/Ashland Invitational. Saint Joseph's got nine points and five rebounds from Britney Cruse on the day, and eight points each from Tatiana Ortiz and Kayla Stout in the loss. SJC will open the conference season Thursday, hosting Northern Kentucky.
