SPRINGFIELD, Ill.- Illinois Springfield took a 72-64 win over visiting Lindenwood-Belleville in non-conference action Monday evening. Cristina Nevins had 16 points for the Prairie Stars (2-3), while Bailey Beale had 14 points and Alyssa Palmer added 13. Megan Bergerud posted a double-double on the night with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. UIS forced 21 turnovers by Lindenwood-Belleville, while committing just 13 itself. The Prairie Stars open GLVC play Thursday at Rockhurst.
Rockhurst 83, Harris-Stowe 48 - BOX SCORE | RECAP
KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Rockhurst women's basketball team picked up its first win of the 2011-12 season with an 83-48 win over Harris-Stowe in non-conference action Monday evening. The Lady Hawks (1-5) got 14 points each from Chrissy Sarcone and Kara McFarland in the victory, while Megan Cook had 11 points for Rockurst. McFarland completed her double-double night with 11 rebounds, the leading individual contribution to the Lady Hawks' 43 boards on the night. Rockhurst hosts Illinois Springfield to open the GLVC portion of its schedule Thursday night.
