RENNSELAER, Ind.- It took three overtimes, but the visiting Northern Kentucky Norse pulled out a 106-101 win over Saint Joseph's to open GLVC action Friday. Casse Mogan had 37 points and 13 rebounds to lead the victorious Norse, while Ellen Holton added 23 points and Maria Bennett and Melody Doss each had 13 points. Sadie Bowling had 11 points and 15 rebounds for NKU. Montrell Mills' 24 points led the Pumas, while Tatiana Ortiz chipped in 23. Britney Cruse had 22 for Saint Joseph's, with Jasmyne Reynolds adding 11. The Norse head to UIndy for a Saturday contest, while the Pumas will host Bellarmine.

LIBERTY, Mo.- Behind 19 points from Ali Schwagmeyer, visiting Quincy opened the GLVC portion of its season with a 77-62 win at William Jewell Friday night. In addition to Schwagmeyer, Daryle Goldie had 15 points for the Lady Hawks (4-2, 1-0 GLVC), while Linsay Henke added 12 on the night. The Cardinals (4-1, 0-1 GLVC) were led by Katlyn Wood's 17 points, while Tesia Danner added 12 and Holly Swizter had 10 on the night. Quincy heads to Rockhurst for a Saturday contest, while the Cardinals will play host to Illinois Springfield Saturday afternoon.

SOMERS, Wisc.- The Panthers picked up a win in their first GLVC action of the year, taking a 68-67 win at #15 Wisconsin-Parkside Friday. Kentucky Wesleyan (4-2, 1-0 GLVC) was led by Katie Behrens' 14 points on the evening, while Bianca Barton added 11 points for the Panthers. The Rangers (5-2, 0-1 GLVC) were paced by a game-high 23 points from Brittany Beyer, while reigning GLVC Player of the Week Jadee Rooney added 17 points. Amy Selk had 10 points for Wisconsin-Parkside, while Danielle Slivka had a game-high 15 rebounds. The Rangers host Southern Indiana Saturday, with Kentucky Wesleyan facing off with Lewis Satuday afternoon.

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.- The Flyers opened the 2011-12 GLVC slate with a 72-53 win Friday night over visiting Southern Indiana. Lewis (3-3, 1-0 GLVC) got 17 points from Jamie Johnson, while Same Rinehart added 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Madeline Kish had 12 points for the Flyers, with Jess Reinhart adding 11 on the night. Nicole Hazemi's 14 points led the Screaming Eagles (5-2, 0-1 GLVC), while Brooke Valentine added 10 points in the loss.USI heads to Wisconsin-Parkside this Saturday, while the Flyers host Kentucky Wesleyan two days from now.

KANSAS CITY, MO.- The visiting Prairie Stars (3-3, 1-0 GLVC) earned a 70-68 win in extra minutes over Rockhurst to open GLVC play Friday night. Illinois Springfield got 18 points from Bailey Beale in the victory, while Megan Bergerud added 10. Ashley Coffey grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in the win for UIS. The Lady Hawks were led by a game-high 22 points from MaKayla Grahn, while Christina Bayliss added 12 points off the Rockhurst bench. Kara McFarland led on the boards, with 10 rebounds. The Prairie Stars continue their GLVC opening-weekend roadswing, heading to William Jewell Saturday, while the Lady Hawks host Quincy.

ROLLA, Mo.- The Lady Miners kept their 2011-12 record perfect, taking a 66-47 win over visiting Maryville to open GLVC play Friday night. Missouri S&T (4-0, 1-0 GLVC) was led by Julie Meyer's 15 points, while Hailee Parks had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Miners. Kysha Hall added 12 points, while Courtney Kemp had 11 for Missouri S&T. Maryville (2-3, 0-1 GLVC) was led by Abby Duethman's 10 points and eight rebounds on the night. Maryville stays on the road, traveling to Drury for a Saturday game, while the Lady Miners will host Missouri-St. Louis two days from now.

INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy women's basketball team opened the GLVC portion of its schedule with a win Thursday, besting visiting Bellarmine 71-59. The Greyhounds (4-2, 1-0 GLVC) were led by 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds from Nickole Gonsor, while Kirstin Turner added 13 points and six assists on the night. Megan Gardner had 12 points on four three-pointers. For Bellarmine (4-2, 0-1 GLVC), Betsy Goodin had 15 points, while Kylee Hamilton added 11 points. Allison Osen had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Knights. Bellarmine heads up I-65 to Saint Joseph's for a Saturday afternoon game, while UIndy will host Northern Kentucky to continue GLVC play.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Behind the highest individual point total in the GLVC so far this season, in 37 from Bethanie Funderburk, the #24 Drury Lady Panthers took a 100-69 win to open conference play against Missouri-St. Louis Friday night. Besides Funderburk's 37 points, she also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds for Drury (4-1, 1-0 GLVC), while Katie Pritchard added 10 points and Casey Carroll chipped in 14. The Tritons (3-2, 0-1 GLVC) were led by 14 points from Caitlyn Moody, while Angela Johnson added 11 points and Devonna Smith had 10 on the night. Next up for the Tritons is a trip to Missouri S&T, while Drury will host Maryville Saturday.
