 #1 Bellarmine 78, Saint Joseph’s 75 -BOX SCORE|RECAP

RENSSELAER, Ind.-The Bellarmine men’s basketball squad was able to rebound from their first loss at Indianapolis earlier this week to win their matchup with Saint Joseph’s 78-75. Bellarmine shot 49 percent from the field and 81 percent from the line. Chris Dowe sank both free throws with 13 seconds remaining to secure the win. Dowe was the leading scorer for the Knights as he sank 20 points and also added five rebounds and two assists on the night. Despite the loss, Saint Joseph senior guard Phillip Collins posted 22 points against No. 1 Bellarmine to keep the game within three points. Bellarmine (6-1) will host the Fern Valley Hotel Classic on December 9-10. The Saint Joseph’s squad (3-3) will head to Olivet Nazarene on December 8.   

 
Missouri-St. Louis 79, Missouri S&T 70-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
ROLLA, Mo. - Despite S&T outscoring the Tritons 44-42 in the second half, Missouri-St. Louis picked up a road win with their 79-70 victory over Missouri S&T on Saturday. UMSL led by 11 at the half and then was able to close out the game with a nine point edge. Senior Troy Long had another impressive shooting night, scoring 27 total points for the Tritons. He also contributed five rebounds and two assists. Josh McCoy also hit double digits scoring 19 points on the night. Despite the loss, S&T senior guard Tommy Pelczynski converted 18 points, four rebounds, and one steal for the Miners. Missouri-St. Louis (4-3) will host McKendree at 3:00 PM on December 10. Missouri S&T (1-7)will host Drury on December 7.
 
 
#9 Kentucky Wesleyan 74, Lewis 71-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
ROMEOVILLE, Ill.-Kentucky Wesleyan continued their undefeated streak as they  picked up a win on the road defeating Lewis by a slim three points on Saturday. The Panthers used a 23-4 first half run to fuel Cardell McFarland who posted 28 points on the night. McFarland hit a long three with one second remaining to give the Panthers the three point edge for the night.  Kentucky Wesleyan shot 30-of-58 (52%) from the field and collected 29 rebounds as a team to take home the victory. The Panthers (6-0) will face off against regional opponent Cedarville on December 10. Lewis will look for a win against St. Francis on December 7.
 
#5 Southern Indiana 71, UW-Parkside 69-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
KENOSHA, Wis.-Southern Indiana picked up their second consecutive conference win after defeating UW-Parkside on the road 71-69. The Eagles trailed by five after the half, but rallied to claim a small lead during the second half. The Eagles lost the lead and fell behind by one in the final minute of the game, calling a timeout. The team returned to rally behind Brandon Hogg’s 23 points and game clenching three point shot with 23 seconds to play to secure the two point victory. Sophomore Lawrence Thomas also hit double figures as he contributed 14 points to the win. Southern Indiana will head to the Fern Valley Hotel Classic hosted by Bellarmine University on December 9-10 where they will face off against St. Catherine and Ohio Valley. UW-Parkside (4-3) will look to recover and find a win against Northland International on December 6.
 
Rockhurst 61, Quincy 57-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
KANSAS CITY-Rockhurst posted a win against divisional opponent Quincy University on Saturday. The Rockhurst squad was led by James Robinson who went 5-for-10 from the field and posted a 3-of-7 effort from behind the three point line. Rockhurst increased their lead to four as Russell Burns sank a free throw in the ninth second. Collectively, Rockhurst shot 42.3 percent from the field to Quincy’s 35.7 percent and combined for a total of 40 rebounds on the night. Rockhurst (4-3) will now play Ottowa University at home on December 13 while Quincy will recover to host Robert Morris on December 10.
 
Illinois Springfield 70, William Jewell 61-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
LIBERTY, Mo.-The University of Illinois Springfield outplayed William Jewell 70-61 on Saturday on Jewell’s home turf. Despite the early lead, the Cardinals could not keep up as Illinois Springfield led 33-27 at the half. Illinois Springfield shot 27-for-61 from the field with Jermai Love-Roberts contributing 19 buckets, four rebounds, and two assists. Chigozie Umeadi and Lester Hart also hit double digits against the Cardinals banking 15 points each. Illinois Springfield (2-5) look to continue their their streak against Division I Saint Louis on December 10, while William Jewell will look for their next win against Newman University on December 10.
 
Drury 81, Maryville 55-BOX SCORE|RECAP
 
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-The Drury Panthers snapped a two game losing streak to defeat undefeated Maryville 81-55 on Saturday. The Panthers received an impressive performance from junior Teddy Simniok as he posted a career high 22 points in the win. Simniok also contributed six rebounds and two steals.  The Panthers had three other players reach double digits as Dennon Mitchell, Brandon Lockhart, and Alex Hall combined for 34 points. Drury (4-3) will compete in another GLVC matchup against Missouri S&T on December 7, while Maryville (5-1) will look to start another win streak against Robert Morris December 7.
 
Northern Kentucky 80, Indianapolis 63 -BOX SCORE | RECAP
 
INDIANAPOLIS- Northern Kentucky topped Indianapolis in a GLVC men's basketball game on Saturday night, 80-63. The Norse (6-0, 2-0) hit 10 three-pointers in the contest and were led by Tony Rack who finished with 19 points and hit five three-pointers. Four NKU players in all reached double figures, including Jon Van Hoose who had 14 points and seven rebounds. UIndy (5-2, 1-1) was led by Adrian Moss who had 18 points. NKU will next host Ohio Western on Tuesday, while UIndy heads to Las Vegas for a pair of games on Dec. 16-17.
