NKU picks up non-conference win over Cedarville, 10-8

Northern Kentucky 10, Cedarville 8 (10)

CEDARVILLE, Ohio- It took an extra inning, but Northern Kentucky was able to post a pair of runs in the 10th inning to take a 10-8 win over Cedarville at Yellow Jacket Field Thursday evening. The win lifts NKU's record to 10-6 on the year.

The Norse pushed the two runs across on two hits in the 10th. Jake Morris led off the inning with a single to the shortstop, and was sacrificed over to second. Two batters later, a two-run home run from Brad Clement sealed the win for the Norse.

Clement, Bryan Rose and Pat Williams all finished with a pair of hits for Northern Kentucky, while Clement also scored three runs and had four RBIs on the day.

Andy Heston (4-0) earned the win on the mound for NKU, pitching two and two-thirds innings in relief. Heston struck out two and allowed no Yellow Jacked runners in his appearance.

Northern Kentucky returns to conference play this weekend, hosting Durry and Missouri S&T Saturday and Sunday.
