Missouri-St. Louis takes sweep of Charleston (W.V.)

CHARLESTON, W.V. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team picked up two wins on Tuesday afternoon, sweeping Charleston University in non-conference play.
The Tritons wons 7-5 and 10-2 to improve to 11-10 overall. Charleston falls to 14-14.
Sophomore Leslie Davis was the winner in the circle in the opener, allowing just one earned run on six hits.
UMSL recorded six hits, led by junior Courtney Gahan who was 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. Senior Karey Kruse delivered a two-run home run, her third of the season.
Senior Crystal Koehler was the winner in the nightcap, working five innings and allowing two earned runs.
Offensively, the Tritons exploded for 14 hits. Junior Heather Arras recorded a double and a triple, while juniors Katherine Tennis and Shannon Beaty and senior JaCee Ellis all had home runs.
UMSL will travel to Glenville State tomorrow in a 4 p.m. (EST) doubleheader.
