Saginaw Valley State 2, Lewis 0 - BOX SCORE  |  LEWIS RECAP

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.- A pair of goals from visiting Saginaw Valley State handed host Lewis a loss in the season opener for both squads. Junior Fran Abate had four shots for the Flyers in the loss. Lewis returns to the brand new Multi-Purpose Athletic Complex on Saturday for their final non-conference game of the season. First kick against Northwood will be 1 p.m.

Maryville 0, Principia 0 (2OT) - BOX SCORE   |  MU RECAP

ST. LOUIS- Maryville and Principia fought through 110 minutes of soccer in the season opener for both teams, with neither squad able to notch a goal. The host Saints outshot Principia in the double-overtime thriller 15-13. Maryville goalkeeper Mandy Browning finished with nine saves in her complete-game effort. Next up for the Saints is a trip to McKendree Saturday.

William Jewell 9, Culver-Stockton 0 - BOX SCORE  |  WJC RECAP

LIBERTY, Mo.- Sophomore Sarah Franklin led the Cardinals with a hat trick and a trio of assists en route to a 9-0 win in William Jewell's first contest as an NCAA Division II member. First-year player Lauren Rein added two goals and first-year player Kendyl Laughlin also added a pair of goals for the Cardinals. William Jewell opens GLVC play Sept. 9 against Drury.
