No. 24 Northern Kentucky 3, No. 20 Indianapolis 2 (25-17, 16-25, 16-25, 25-18, 15-8)

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – In an early season showdown between nationally-ranked GLVC teams, No. 24 Northern Kentucky rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the fourth set and the deciding set to pull out a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Norse (7-0, 2-0), after winning the first set, 25-17, dropped sets two and three by similar 25-16 scores. NKU rebounded in the fourth set, 25-18, and then dominated the deciding set, 15-8, by hitting at a .714 clip. Five Norse reached double-digit kills, including Sarah Drennen who posted a team-high 16 kills. Jenna Schreiver guided the well-balanced attack with 59 assists. UIndy (2-4, 1-1) was led by Kristina Kerrigan and Kristina Hefferan who notched 25 and 24 kills, respectively. NKU will next host Bellarmine on Tuesday and UIndy will travel to Saint Joseph’s

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Quickly rebounding from last night’s loss to USI, the Lewis volleyball team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan in three sets on Saturday afternoon. In the win, Hannah Koeneman had eight kills and three blocks, while Colleen Mitros added five kills and five digs. Chelsee Brothers led the Panthers with seven kills.

The Flyers also took down St. Francis (IL) in three sets on Saturday as Jen Krumwiede notched 12 kills and Amy Choi posted 20 digs. Leigh Barea paced the offense with 31 kills. Kentucky Wesleyan fell to St. Francis on Saturday despite 11 kills from Bridget Johnson.

Lewis (5-2, 1-1) will next visit UW-Parkside on Tuesday. Kentucky Wesleyan (3-6, 0-2) will host Southern Indiana on Tuesday.

Missouri S&T 3, Quincy 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-12)

ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T completed an undefeated weekend in conference play by locking up a 3-0 victory over Quincy on Saturday afternoon. The Miners (4-3, 2-0) were paced by Erin Bekebrede who finished with 13 kills, eight digs and five blocks. Hayley Wright added 11 kills for the Miners and Jennifer Costello tallied 30 assists. Lyndsay Kooi had 22 assists, 10 digs and six kills for the Lady Hawks in a losing effort. S&T will visit Drury on Tuesday, while Quincy (2-4, 0-2) will host Illinois Springfield.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine evened its league record at 1-1 with a 3-1 decision over Saint Joseph’s on Saturday. The Knights were led by four players who reached double figures in kills, including Alyson Harmeling who had 14 kills and a .423 hitting percentage. Lucy Knott hit at a .524 clip and finished with 13 kills. Bailey BredenbeckCorp led the attack with 49 assists and Kaitlin Young added 30 assists. Bellarmine (5-1) will visit Northern Kentucky on Tuesday and Saint Joseph’s (5-3, 0-2) will look for its first league win as Indianapolis comes to Rensselaer on Tuesday.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury rolled to its second straight league victory as it defeated visiting Illinois Springfield on Saturday, 25-7, 25-21, 25-12. The Panthers were led by Erica Heim who had 13 kills and five digs and Alex Smith who added 10 kills, four digs and two blocks. UIS  was led by Kelle Mahaffay who had seven kills.

The Panthers also collected a 3-1 win over visiting Pittsburg State in a non-conference matchup. Drury’s Sara Borneman guided the attack in the nightcap with 17 kills and Smith again added 10 kills in the victory. Drury (6-1, 2-0) will host Missouri S&T on Tuesday.

UIS (0-7, 0-2) also fell to Pittsburg State in a non-conference contest, 3-1. The Prairie Stars received 18 kills from Mahaffay in the loss and Sam Krilich added 14 kills for UIS. Colleen Gentile added 23 assists in for the Prairie Stars. UIS will visit Quincy on Tuesday.

Missouri-St. Louis 3, Rockhurst 0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21)

ST. LOUIS – Missouri-St. Louis rebounded from a home-loss on Friday night by picking up a home win against Rockhurst on Saturday in three sets. Erin Higgins and Chelsea Burkle tallied 12 and 11 kills, respectively for the Tritons, while McNulty shine with 39 assists. Rockhurst (3-4, 1-1) was led by Maggie Hummel who had nine kills.  UMSL (4-2, 1-1) will host Maryville on Tuesday and Rockhurst will host William Jewell.

Southern Indiana 3, UW-Parkside 2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12)

SOMERS, Wis. – After dropping the first two sets for the second night in a row, Southern Indiana again pulled out a big rally and escaped with a 3-2 victory at UW-Parkside on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles, who had rallied from two sets down at Lewis on Friday night, improved to 2-0 in league play with the victory. Danielle LaGrange and 17 kills and Emily Meyer added 10 kills. Kayla Heldman tallied 24 digs in the victory. UW-Parkside (2-5, 1-1) was led by Bridget Nickel who had 18 kills and 19 digs. USI (4-2, 2-0) will travel to KWC on Tuesday and UW-Parkside will host No. 14 Lewis on Tuesday.

ST. LOUIS – Maryville knocked off visiting William Jewell on Saturday afternoon, 3-1. Andi Neff posted 46 assists to pace the Saints offense. Ashlee Brockenbrough finished with 15 kills and eight digs and Mikaela Lahm added 13 kills and three blocks. William Jewell (4-2, 1-1) was led by Hannah Herndon and Morgan Sleeper who had 11 kills apiece in the loss. Maryville (3-1, 1-1) will visit Missouri-St. Louis in its next match on Tuesday, while William Jewell hosts Rockhurst
