The Drury University women's soccer team knocked off the Bisons of Harding 2-1 Tuesday evening in a game played off campus at Lake Country/Cooper Soccer Complex.
Drury opened the game with the first score coming at the 28 minute mark when Nicole Williams scored her team leading fourth goal of the season off of a Kara Steiner assist. Harding wasted little time knotting the game up, as Lauren Scharf scored a minute later assisted by Adriana Lucar.
Williams scored the game winner and her fifth goal of the season for the 2-1 Panther victory at the 76 minute mark off of a Lindsey Sprouse assist.
Drury outshot Harding 19 to eight with both teams recording eight shots on goal. Williams led the Panthers with a team high 10 shots. Drury sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Jones recorded four saves and Harding goalie Danielle Nonaka posted six.
Drury raises its record to 3-1-1 on the year while HU fell to 1-2
Next up for DU will be a pair of GLVC road games, first vs. the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday, September 16 at 2:30 p.m. CST before going to Southern Indiana on Sunday, September 18 for a 12 p.m. start.
