Indianapolis 3, No. 17 Lewis  0  (25-22, 25-20, 25-22)

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis upset No. 17 Lewis in a GLVC volleyball match on Friday night, 3-0. The Greyhounds (4-4, 3-1) evened their overall record on the year by limiting Lewis to a .107 hitting percentage on the evening. Kristina Kerrigan recorded 15 kills and 12 digs and Kristina Hefferan added 11 kills and 17 digs in the win. Setter Meghan Binkerd set the tempo for UIndy with 36 assists to go with 11 digs. Lewis (5-4, 1-3) was led Colleen Mitros and Danielle Mount who each had nine kills. UIndy will next host UW-Parkside, while Lewis visits Saint Joseph’s on Saturday.

No. 14 Northern Kentucky 3, Kentucky Wesleyan 0 (26-24, 25-6, 25-14)

OWENSBORO, Ky. – No. 14 Northern Kentucky set a school mark with its ninth straight win to open the season as the Norse knocked off host Kentucky Wesleyan in three sets. The Norse (9-0, 4-0) were led by Jenna Schreiver who had 38 assists and Kim Nemcek who posted a match-high 15 kills and five blocks. The Norse pulled out a close win in the first set, 26-24, before cruising in the second and third sets, 25-6 and 25-14, respectively. NKU will visit Southern Indiana on Saturday for a battle for first place in the GLVC East Division, while Kentucky Wesleyan (3-8, 0-4) is set to host Bellarmine.

Southern Indiana 3, Bellarmine 0 (25-16, 25-18, 26-24)

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Senior Danielle LaGrange posted 13 kills and hit. 391 to lead Southern Indiana to its fourth straight GLVC victory with a 3-0 decision over visiting Bellarmine on Friday night. The Eagles (6-2, 4-0) hit .208 as a team and were paced by Jorae Bradbury who had 27 assists and a team-high 13 digs. Bellarmine (5-3, 1-3) was led by Krista Gibson who had nine kills and Bailey BradenbeckCorp who added 26 assists. Southern Indiana will next host No. 14 Northern Kentucky on Saturday and Bellarmine will travel to Kentucky Wesleyan.

Drury 3, William Jewell 0 ( 25-21, 28-26, 25-23)

LIBERTY, Mo. – Drury pulled out a sweep at William Jewell on Friday night as the Panthers topped the league’s newest member 25-21, 28-26, 25-23. Drury (7-2, 3-1) had two players reach double digit kills including Sara Borneman who had a match-high 19 kills and 11 digs. Ali Rook added a double-double of her own with 10 kills and 15 digs and Kaitlin Goetz posted 37 assists. William Jewell (5-3, 2-2) was paced by Hannah Herndon who had 11 kills and 15 digs. Drury will next visit Rockhurst and William Jewell will host Missouri S&T on Saturday.

Missouri-St. Louis 3, Quincy 0 (25-16, 27-25, 25-16)

QUINCY, Ill. – Chelsea Burkle tallied 15 kills and Anna McNulty delivered 32 assists as Missouri-St. Louis defeated host Quincy on Friday night, 3-0. The Tritons (6-2, 3-1) finished the match with a .321 hitting percentage and recorded 27 blocks to win their third straight contest. UMSL  will travel to Illinois Springfield on Saturday and Quincy (3-5, 1-3), who was led by 12 kills from Taylor Jacobs,  will host Maryville.

Illinois Springfield 3, Maryville 1 (25-21, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21)

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – UIS notched its first win of the season with a 3-1 decision over visiting Maryville on Friday night. The Prairie Stars jumped on top early securing wins in the first two sets. They were guided by Sam Krilich who had 17 kills and Annie Nottingham who added 11 kills. Rebeka Pruemer averaged double-digit assists in the win, finishing with 41 to go with eight digs. Maryville (3-3, 1-3) was led by Ashlee Brockenbrough who had 16 kills in the loss. UIS (1-8, 1-3) will host Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday and Maryville will visit Quincy.

UW-Parkside 3, Saint Joseph’s 2 (22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 16-25, 19-17)

RENSSELAER, Ind. – Wisconsin-Parkside pulled out a five-set thriller on Friday night as the Rangers knocked off host Saint Joseph’s by securing a 19-17 advantage in the deciding set. UW-Parkside (4-5, 3-1) had four players with double-digit kills, including Caroline Langer and Addie Kramer who each had a team-high 13. Stacie Bower notched a match-high 32 digs in the win to lead the defensive efforts. Saint Joseph’s Sharon Freund had a match-high 22 kills in a losing effort. The Rangers will next travel to UIndy on Saturday and Saint Joseph’s (5-5, 0-4) will host Lewis.

Missouri S&T 3, Rockhurst 2 (25-22, 17-25, 9-25, 25-15, 20-18)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri S&T rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat host Rockhurst 3-2 on Friday night and move to 4-0 in the GLVC this season. The Miners, who took the first set 25-22, were defeated convincingly in the second (25-17) and third set (25-9) before taking the fourth (25-15) and the deciding set by a 20-18 count. Erin Bekebrede led the Miners with 16 kills and 18 digs, while Jennifer Costello led the attack with 49 assists. Rockhurst (3-6, 1-3) received 20 kills from Maggie McGovern. S&T (6-3, 4-0) is alone in first place in the GLVC West Division and will visit William Jewell on Saturday.
