LIBERTY, Mo.- The William Jewell men's soccer team dropped a non-conference decision to visiting Lindenwood Wednesday. The Cardinals lost 2-1 to fall to 2-4 overall on the 2011 season.

Lindenwood got a pair of goals from Franz Husbands to earn the win. Husbands put LU ahead 1-0 in the 57th minute, and doubled his team's lead about 11 minutes later.

The Cardinals tallied their lone goal just a second past the 78-minute mark. Cole Prather put in the score, on an assist from Forrest McCurren.

Visiting Lindenwood out-shot William Jewell 10-9 in the match, but the Cardinals took five corner kick chances to Lindenwood's two.

William Jewell heads back into conference play this weekend, hosting Kentucky Wesleyan and Southern Indiana.
