ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T’s Kyle Schraier put home a rebound in the 69th minute to give the Miners an upset win over top-ranked Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon, 2-1. S&T (7-1, 5-1) took an early lead in the match as Ben Emnett scored unassisted in the 30th minute. Northern Kentucky (7-1, 5-1) tied the match at the start of the second half as Michael Holder tallied his third goal of the season on an assist from Nicholas Chiarot. Pat McNamee made six saves in goal for the Miners to earn the win. S&T will head to Maryville on Friday, while Northern Kentucky returns home to face UW-Parkside.
Indianapolis 2, No. 24 Quincy 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis men’s soccer team upset No. 24 Quincy on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, to pull into a tie for first place in the GLVC standings. UIndy (6-2-0, 5-1-0) took the lead on a Quincy own goal in the 11th minute and Taku Chapman provided some insurance with a goal in the 42nd minute on an assist from Kevin Eggert. Justin Roberts earned the win in goal for the Greyhounds by posting four saves. UIndy outshot Quincy, 19-11. UIndy will head to Southern Indiana on Friday. Quincy (5-2-1, 4-1-1) will host William Jewell on Friday.
Missouri-St. Louis 2, Lewis 1 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Missouri-St. Louis scored a pair of first half goals to pull out a 2-1 win at Lewis on Sunday afternoon. Mike McCarthy put the Tritons on the board in the 29th minute on an Almin Sabotic assist. Jordan Bruce provided the game-winner in the 39th minute unassisted, giving UMSL a 2-0 advantage. Lazarao Gil scored a late goal for the Flyers in the 85th minute to pull them within one score. Tim Boruff earned the win in goal for the Tritons and made 10 saves as UMSL was outshot, 20-10. UMSL (3-2-3, 2-2-2) will host Drury on Friday, while Lewis (3-5, 3-3) is heading to Bellarmine.
Saint Joseph’s 2, Illinois Springfield 1 (OT) – BOX SCORE | RECAP
RENSSELAER, Ind. – Cole Galloway put back a deflection off UIS goalkeeper Cole Wardlow six minutes into overtime to give host Saint Joseph’s a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon. The score broke a 1-1 tie that had been in place since the 53rd minute when UIS’ Ahmedtayib Haji scored unassisted. Saint Joseph’s jumped on top in the third minute of the match as Kevin Amaizo scored his fourth goal of the season on a Galloway assist. Saint Joseph’ s (3-4-1, 3-2-1) will visit Kentucky Wesleyan in its next match on Friday and UIS (0-6-1, 0-5-1) will return home to face Rockhurst on Friday.
Drury 1, Bellarmine 0 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury picked up a home win in GLVC men’s soccer action on Sunday with a 1-0 decision over Bellarmine. The lone goal of the match came in the 14th minute as Matt Hutchison tallied his third goal of the year from 10 yards out. Drury goalkeeper Stephen Conner recorded the shutout with three saves. Drury (6-3, 4-2) will head to Missouri-St. Louis for its next match on Friday and Bellarmine (4-4, 3-3) is slated to host Lewis on Friday.
Rockhurst 5, Kentucky Wesleyan 2 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
KANSAS CITY – After letting an early 2-0 advantage slip away on Sunday afternoon, Rockhurst struck three times in the second half to pull away with a 5-2 win over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan. John Schreiber and Mark Magee each posted a goal in the first 19 minutes of the match to give Rockhurst a 2-0 lead, but Kentucky Wesleyan’s Takis Agisiliou found the back of the net in the 34th and 40th minutes to tie the score at 2-2 heading to the break. Magee converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute to provide the game-winning goal and Keith Williams and Paolo Scoppola added insurance goals for the Hawks. Rockhurst (5-2, 4-2) will next visit UIS on Friday while Kentucky Wesleyan (2-6, 0-6) will next travel to Cumberland for anon-conference match on Wednesday.
William Jewell 6, Southern Indiana 2 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
LIBERTY, Mo. – William Jewell evened its record on Sunday afternoon and moved to 3-3 in league play with a 6-2 win over visiting Southern Indiana. Forrest McCurren posted a hat trick in the win and Cole Prather notched two assists. McCurren scored his first goal in the 18th minute to give the Cardinals a 2-0 advantage and after Chris Binns provided the game-winning in the 56th minute and McCurren pushed the lead to 5-1 with goals in the 57th and 73rd minutes. William Jewell will visit Quincy on Friday and Southern Indiana (1-7, 0-6) will host Indianapolis on Friday.
UW-Parkside 2, Maryville 1 – BOX SCORE | RECAP
SOMERS, Wis. – Jorge Artavia scored in the 66th minute to help UW-Parkside pull out a 2-1 home win over Maryville in GLVC men’s soccer action. He was assisted on the game-winner by Niklas Boedts and Spencer Bursten. Jon Gourlay scored in the fourth minute to give UW-Parkside an early 1-0 advantage, but Maryville’s knotted the score at 1-1 with a Kory Dowell goal in the 18th minute. UW-Parkside (5-2-1, 3-2-1) will head to Northern Kentucky on Friday and Maryville (2-6-1, 1-5-0) will host Missouri S&T.
