UIndy Women's Golfers Win Midwest Shootout

WATERLOO, Ill. - The Indianapolis women's golf team claimed the Midwest Shootut held at Annbriar Golf Course on Sunday as the Greyhounds had five golfers place in the top 11 overall. Darin Pinnick and Brianna Scheidler finished seond and third, respectively, with Maryville's Kayla Eckelkamp earning medalist honors with a 71-70-141.

The Greyhounds completed the 36-hole event with a team score of 296-304--600, 23 strokes ahead of runner-up Drury. Missouri-St. Louis placed third in the field featuring 12 GLVC teams, five shots behind the Panthers.

Eckelkamp finished three-under par (71-70--141) to take medalist honors. Pinnick also finished under par with a 69-73--142. Scheidler and Drury's Katrina Choate tied for third overall with a 148 and Missouri-St. Louis' Shweta Galande finished fifth with a 77-75--152.
