EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men’s tennis team started the 2011-12 campaign with a 9-0 sweep of St. Catharine College Saturday at the USI Tennis Courts. The Screaming Eagles start the season 1-0, while the Patriots fall to 0-1.

Robert Nieters led in singles with straight-set shutouts at number five and six singles, 6-0 and 6-0. Gimenez lost only one game in his straight set win at number three, 6-1 and 6-0.
The next action for the Eagles is in the Bradley University Invitational September 16-18, in Peoria, Illinois. USI also is scheduled to play in ITA Midwest Regional, September 23-25, and the Georgetown College Invitational, October 8-9.
