INDIANAPOLIS- It was a slow week for GLVC men’s tennis as only two teams were scheduled to participate this week. William Jewell was the only squad actually able to compete however, as Saint Joseph’s match with Valparaiso was cancelled due to rain.
Kirksville, Mo.- The William Jewell Men’s tennis team traveled to Kirksville, Missouri to compete against Truman State University in their first dual match of the season on Wednesday, September 28. The Cardinals fell 6-3 at the match. Jewell fell behind 2-1 after doubles action, with their sole win coming from Shane Giannetti and Bryan Thomas at No. 1 doubles. Giannetti and Thomas also picked up the only singles wins for the Cards at No. 1 and 2 singles respectively. The William Jewell squad will be back in action again this weekend at the ITA Regional Championships in Kearney, Nebraska.
Saint Joseph at Valparaiso: Cancelled
Valparaiso, Ind.-The Saint Joseph’s men’s tennis team was scheduled to travel to Valparaiso, Indiana to compete in a dual competition against Division I Valparaiso University. Unfortunately, the match was cancelled due to rain. The Pumas will return to action when they host the Saint Joseph College Invite on October 8.
