NDIANAPOLIS- It was a slow week for GLVC women’s tennis as only three teams were scheduled to participate this week. William Jewell and Missouri-St. Louis were the only squads actually able to compete however, as Saint Joseph’s match with Valparaiso was cancelled due to rain.
William Jewell at Truman State: Box Score
Kirksville, Mo.- The William Jewell women’s tennis team traveled to Kirksville, Missouri to compete against Truman State University in their first dual match of the season on Wednesday, September 28. The Cardinals defeated the Bulldogs 6-3 at the match. The William Jewell squad swept the doubles action as they earned wins at all three doubles positions. In singles, the Cardinals earned wins from Paula Peters, Jaimie Baker, and Katy Lehenbauer at 1, 4, and 6 singles respectively. William Jewell will return to action on October 5.
ST. LOUIS-The Missouri St. Louis women’s tennis team was the second GLVC team in action this week. The team competed against fellow St. Louis squad Lindenwood University on Wednesday, where they refused to drop a single match, winning the dual m 9-0. The Missouri-St. Louis squad will return to action on October 4 against Lindenwood-Belleville.
Saint Joseph at Valparaiso: Cancelled
Valparaiso, Ind.-The Saint Joseph’s women’s tennis team was scheduled to travel to Valparaiso, Indiana to compete in a dual competition against Division I Valparaiso University. Unfortunately, the match was cancelled due to rain. The Pumas will return to action this weekend against Purdue University Calumet.
