Stars Break Two Records and Vorreyer Hits Hole In One on Sunday

FINAL RESULTS

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Abby Vorreyer shot a school record 75 and also hit a hole in one from 150 yards out, while the Illinois Springfield women's golf team fired 321 Sunday at the Illinois College Invitational to also break a team mark.

The Prairie Stars (334-321 – 655) finished second at the tournament and 26 strokes behind first place William Woods (316-313 – 629).

For UIS, behind Vorreyer (81-75 – 156), who finished the tournament in second place was fifth place Paige Luker (81-80 – 161). Caitlin Osborn (82-81), meanwhile, finished in 10th place after shooting 163.

Rounding out the team scores was Kelsey Blake (91-85 – 176), who tied for 28th and Liz Kesigner (90-90 –180), who tied for 35th in her first collegiate action.

Playing as individuals for UIS was Brittany Stout (98-86 –184), who cut off 12 strokes off of her score from Saturday and rounding out the scoring for the Prairie Stars was Beth Fitzsimmons (98-88 – 186), who also improved her scoring from Saturday as well.

UIS will be back on the course Sunday, Sept. 18 and Monday, Sept. 19 at the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagle Classic in Evansville, Ind.
