ST. LOUIS - The Maryville women's volleyball team opened the 2011 season on Tuesday night with a 25-22, 25-12, 26-24 victory over visiting Principia to give first year head coach Crhistine Phillips her first win as a Saint. Maryville limited Principia to a .034 hitting percentage and received a match-high 18 kills from Ashlee Brockenbrough. Andi Neff added 30 assists and Demi Maniaci added 10 kills for the Saints. Maryville will travel to McKendree for its next match tomorrow night.

No. 8 Central Missouri 3, Missouri S&T 1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-21) - Box Score | S&T Recap

ROLLA, Mo. - Host Missouri S&T jumped out to a quick 1-0 advantage over No. 8 Central Missouri in volleyball action on Tuesday night, but the visiting Jennies responded by taking the final three sets and a 3-1 decision. In the loss, S&T's Erin Bekebrede notched a team-high 11 kills and nine digs, while Jackie Zellmer added 10 kills and a pair of service aces. Setter Jennifer Costello tallied 42 assists in the victory.

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Kentucky Wesleyan split a pair of home matches on Tuesday night. The Panthers fell to Asbury in three sets, before knocking off Cumberlands, 3-0. In the loss to Asbury, freshman Bridget Johnson led the Panthers with nine kills. MaryBeth Ryan paced Kentucky Wesleyan in the win over Cumberlands as she posted 10 kills and a .474 hitting percentage. Jordan Rickert recorded 36 assists in the win to pace the offensive attack. Kentucky Wesleyan will face UW-Parkside, Lewis and St. Francis this weekend.
