HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - No. 23 Northern Kentucky improved to 5-0 on the season with a non-conference victory over visiting Charleston in Regents Hall on Wednesday night. The Norse attacked at a .407 clip as a team en route to a 3-0 win and were led by Noelle Peterson who posted 10 a match-best 10 kills. Senior Kim Nemcek and Sarah Drennen each added nine kills  while Kylee Tarantino posted 10 digs and a pair of service aces. Setter Jenna Schreiver paced the Norse attack with 39 assists in the three sets. NKU will open league play on Friday against visiting Saint Joseph's.

Maryville 3, McKendree 0 (25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16)

LEBANON, Ill. - Maryville visited McKendree in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night and came away with a 3-1 victory. The Saints were again led by Ashleee Brockenbrough who tallied a match-high 19 kills. Demi Maniaci and Julia Greaves also finished with double digit kills, posting 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Andi Neff notched 48 assists and Jordan Dietl collected 15 digs. McKendree's Nadia Moore had 14 kills in the loss. Maryville (2-0) will next host Rockhurst in the teams' first GLVC contest on Friday.

EMPORIA, Kan. - Rockhurst took No. 18 Emporia State to five sets on Wednesday night before losing the deciding set, 15-6. The Hawks grabbed an early advantage with a 25-22 win in the first set and rallied back by taking the fourth set 26-24 after host Emporia had taken sets two and three. In the loss, Maggie McGovern had 23 kills an nine digs. Leah Grant finished with 51 assists and Victoria Mahl recorded 25 digs for the Hawks. Rockhurst (2-3) will travel to Maryville on Friday.
