INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior guard Braydon Hobbs (New Albany, Ind./New Albany) has been tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Hobbs led BU to road wins over Drury and Missouri S&T last week, averaging 13.5 points, 8.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block per game as well as boasting a turnover ratio of 5.33.
In an 84-65 victory over Drury on Thursday, Hobbs filled up the stat line with 17 points, six assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Beyond the stats, however, Hobbs played a crucial role in stopping a Drury rally that had BU’s double-digit lead in jeopardy. Hobbs led an 8-0 run by hitting two free throws and a 3-pointer and then blocked an attempt on the defensive end and assisted on the next BU basket.
On Saturday, Hobbs posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists while collecting two steals and a block to help the Knights to an 80-50 win over Missouri S&T.
With Hobbs’ efforts, Bellarmine extended its winning streak to eight games and move to 13-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Brandon Lockhart, Indianapolis’ Adrian Moss, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Anthony Young, and Southern Indiana’s Isaac McClure.
