INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis junior guard Kristin Turner (Seymour, IN/Seymour) has been tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Turner helped lead the Greyhounds to an undefeated week in conference play posting wins against Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis.
On the week Turner averaged 22 points and six assists per game. She went 13-for-28 (46.4%) from the floor and added a 12-for-14 (85.7%) effort from the free throw line. She also collected six rebounds and three steals between the two games.
Turner started off the week putting up a game-high 23 points including four three-point buckets in the Greyhounds 67-63 win over Maryville on Thursday. She displayed versatility as she also added five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals to round out the night.
Turner returned Saturday evening for a showdown with Missouri-St. Louis where she once again earned the game-high point total with 22 points. She also contributed four assists, one block, and one steal in the Greyhounds 77-56 win over the Tritons.
Turner leads the Great Lakes Valley Conference in scoring with 17.8 points per game and ranks second in both assists and three-pointers per game. Turner and the Indianapolis squad will return to action tonight as they take on Saint Joseph’s at home.
