INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis senior guard Adrian Moss (Centralia, Ill.,/Franklin Community (Ind.)/IUPUI) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Moss averaged 19.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game to lead UIndy to a 3-0 week, including the first road sweep at Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan in school history.
Moss started the week as a distributor, posting 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and a career-high three blocks in an 88-86 victory over in-state rival St. Joseph's.
Moss picked up his scoring on the road as he had a game-high 21 points and four steals in a road victory at No. 7 Southern Indiana. After not winning in Evansville since 1982, Moss has now orchestrated back-to-back wins by the Greyhounds at USI. Moss was at his best in the second half, scoring 15 of his 21 points while registering three rebounds and three steals.
He finished the week by leading UIndy to its second victory this season against the nation’s top-ranked team at No. 1 Kentucky Wesleyan. Moss had a game-high 27 points, five assists and three rebounds in the win. He made 5-of-10 3-pointers and all eight of his free-throw attempts. Moss' 3-point play with 1:58 remaining gave UIndy the lead, which was then followed by a game-winning 3-pointer, which Moss assisted on.
This is the second weekly honor for Moss this season, having also earned the league’s top honor on Jan. 2. Moss has guided the Greyhounds to a 14-3 record overall, including a 7-2 mark in the GLVC East Division.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Chris Dowe, Illinois-Springfield’s Jermaine Love-Roberts, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Cardell McFarland, Missouri-St. Louis’ Troy Long, Northern Kentucky’s DeAndre Nealy, Quincy’s Justin Brock, Rockhurst’s James Robinson, and Southern Indiana’s Brandon Hogg.
