INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Tuesday its official 2012 Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference teams, which were adjusted by the league coaches based on results from the conference championship on May 5. A total of 98 All-GLVC accolades were awarded, including 49 each on the men’s and women’s side. Of those 49 honors, 29 student-athletes earned First Team All-GLVC distinction, while the remaining 20 were recognized on the Second Team.
The Bellarmine men’s team led the way with ten All-Conference honorees, including eight first-team selections. On the women’s side, Indianapolis led the way with 12 selections including nine first-team honorees. Overall, Indianapolis took home both the men’s and women’s conference crowns and combined for a total of 21 postseason honors. The Knights followed close behind, totaling 15 first-team honors and five second-team accolades between the men’s and women’s programs.
