This Week in GLVC Women's Basketball: Dec. 4-10

Truman State opens the week, hosting non-conference opponent Hannibal-LaGrange ahead of two non-league road contests on Tuesday for Lewis and Drury. GLVC play resumes just on Thursday only this week with all games available to be viewed on GLVCSN. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will see four more games out of Conference play to close the week, as Quincy, Bellarmine and Indianapolis host three of those, while UW-Parkside visits Division I Northern Iowa.
 
MONDAY 12.4

Truman had no problem defeating visiting Hannibal-LaGrange, 80-23, thanks to scoring output from every single player that saw action, including double figures from three players.

TUESDAY 12.5

Lewis visited St. Francis for a 59-46 road win, while No. 7 Drury defeated Harding on the road, 65-57, as well. Lewis' Jessica Kelliher (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Rachel Hinders (15 points, 15 rebounds) both notched double-doubles en route to the win, while two from Drury scored 20 or more points; Heather Harman had a game-high 23 and Alice Heinzler went for 20.

Six scored in double figures for Drury, as it went on the road to hand Quincy a 90-67 loss. Bellarmine also tallied a winning score in the 90s – its first Conference victory this season – getting double digits from four players that included 24 by Raven Merriweather, in a 93-79 home win past UW-Parkside. Illinois Springfield's Destiny Ramsey drained 22 points in a close 68-63 win against visiting Rockhurst, while Lewis' Jessica Kelliher went 10-for-10 from the floor to score 24 and lead Lewis in its 65-49 win against Indianapolis at home. Maryville got its first league win in a 76-68 home result against Missouri S&T, while Truman State was led to a 76-62 road win by Katie Jaseckas'  double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in just 29 minutes. Missouri-St. Louis came back from a 14-8 first-quarter deficit, making up most of its ground in the third period with a 21-9 advantge to win its first GLVC contest 57-50 against visiting William Jewell.
 
FRIDAY 12.8

All 16 players who saw time on Friday night scored at least two points to help Quincy to an easy 80-38 win over non-conference foe Hannibal-LaGrange, including Maddie Spagnola and Julie Ruzevich who tallied double figures off the bench with 14 and 11, respectively.

Martha Burse led Indianapolis in its 60-42 non-conference win over Oakland City with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Taylor Drury also tallied a double-double via 13 points and 10 boards. Bellarmine also won a non-league contest with its 71-58 victory past Kentucky State, getting 27 from Raven Merriweather, who added five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block.
