INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Thursday its GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) will stream its first-ever GLVC WRESTLING WHIPAROUND to give fans a unique look at all seven wrestling programs in action on the final day of the inaugural league season.
GLVCSN will begin streaming from the University of Indianapolis this Saturday at 11:45 a.m. ET, 15 minutes prior to GLVC dual action. Two matches will happen concurrently with No. 18 Indianapolis (12-6, 3-1 GLVC) hosting No. 6 McKendree University (11-5, 2-2), while No. 4 Maryville University (4-3, 3-1) faces Bellarmine University (0-10, 0-4).
During the first hour, GLVCSN will “whiparound” to the best individual match occurring on the two mats in the primary screen, leaving the action on the second mat in the picture-in-picture inset.
At 1 p.m. ET, using the RTMP source feature in BlueFrame Technology’s Production Truck software, GLVCSN will pull in a remote feed from Drury University, where No. 5 University of Wisconsin-Parkside (10-2, 4-0) will look to clinch a share of the inaugural GLVC Championship with a win over Truman State University (7-10, 1-3). Should the Rangers win, they will vie for the outright league title against Drury (2-4, 1-3) at 3 p.m. ET.
Throughout the afternoon, GLVCSN will frequently switch to the best action occurring in the three matches at two different sites, which are separated by seven hours and nearly 500 miles.
Four of the seven GLVC programs are currently found in the top 20 of the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll, while 17 wrestlers are nationally ranked in their respective weight classes.
“Since the advent of the GLVC Sports Network, we have made an effort to enhance each of our 21 conference championships with comprehensive streaming coverage,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “With football, we have been able to stream our GLVC Football Kickoff event, so we are thrilled to be able to enhance GLVC wrestling with this exciting concept for our season finale.”
