ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Semifinal action for the 2017 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Tennis Championship Tournament has been set for Sunday, following four quarterfinal matches on Saturday at various indoor courts in the surrounding St. Louis area, including the Vetta Sports-Concord facility in St. Louis, as well as the Chesterfield Athletic Club and Forest Lake Tennis Club in Chesterfield, Missouri.
University of Indianapolis, Lewis University, Drury University, and Rockhurst University all advanced to the semifinals.
No. 2 West Rockhurst started the day with a 5-0 sweep against No. 3 East University of Southern Indiana, while top seed in the East Indianapolis defeated #4W Quincy University, 5-0, as well. No. 1 West Drury followed with the third 5-0 sweep of the day against #4E McKendree University before Lewis topped University of Missouri-St. Louis 5-3 in a four-hour match to close out the evening of quarterfinal contests.
UIndy will now meet Rockhurst and Drury will face Lewis in Sunday’s semifinals, as both matches will begin at approximately 12 p.m. CT on the outdoor courts at Dwight Davis Tennis Center. Streaming on the GLVC Sports Network will occur for the Drury-Lewis matchup at GLVCSN.com.
Semifinal winners will advance to Monday’s championship contest, with the start time set for 12 p.m.
