INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time in league history, two Great Lakes Valley Conference football teams have advanced to postseason play.  The University of Indianapolis (9-1, 7-0 GLVC) will compete in the NCAA Division II Super Region Three playoffs, while Missouri S&T (9-2, 6-1) has been selected to the participate in the Mineral Water Bowl.

Winners of nine straight games and the GLVC Championship, 12th-ranked UIndy earned the No. 4 seed in the seven team bracket and will host fifth-seeded and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Champion Fort Hays State on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.  The winner will head to Ouachita Baptist for a second-round battle on Saturday, Nov. 24.

On the other side of the SR3 bracket, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)-champ and No. 2-seed Ferris State (11-0) will host seventh-seeded Harding (9-2), while No. 6-seed Northwest Missouri State (9-2) with head to third-seeded Grand Valley State (10-1).

The Greyhounds are making their second consecutive postseason trip and fifth in the last seven years.  UIndy also qualified in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017, with its lone postseason win coming in the first round of 2012 – a 31-14 home win against Midwestern State.

The Miners’ Mineral Water Bowl bid is the first-ever bowl invitation for a GLVC squad and S&T’s first postseason opportunity since 1950.  Missouri S&T will face Minnesota State Moorhead of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at Tiger Stadium in Excelsior Springs, Missouri on Dec. 1.  The 53rd edition of the bowl game will kick off at noon CT.

Missouri S&T reached the nine-win mark for just the fourth time in program history Saturday when it rallied for a 34-33 win over Truman State, extending its winning streak to five games in the process.  That helped earn S&T its first opportunity to play in the postseason since it won the 1950 Corn Bowl over Illinois State in Normal, Illinois.
