EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The semifinal slate for the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament has been set for Saturday, following four quarterfinal games on Thursday at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

In the opening game of the quarterfinal round, No. 2 Truman State University breezed by No. 7 Lewis University, 103-56. Five Bulldogs scored in double figures, including Jake Velky and Brodric Thomas both with a game-high 23, while Velky added six assists and Brodric grabbed seven rebounds. The 103 points for Truman matches the third-highest scoring output in the league’s postseason event and the second-most in a regulation contest, while the 47-point margin of victory sets a new GLVC standard.

The second game of the session saw No. 3 Drury University earn the 79-72 result over No. 5 University of Southern Indiana. Despite getting a game-high 22 points from two Screaming Eagles, Marcellous Washington and Julius Rajala, it was the Panthers’ Conley Garrison who led the way with 21 complemented by three others in double figures.

With the wins, Truman and Drury advance to face each other in the first semifinal matchup Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
In the evening session, top-seeded Bellarmine University survived a scare from eighth-seeded William Jewell College, collecting the 70-65 victory after trailing nearly the entire first half. While the Knights were held scoreless from the 3-point line for just the second time in head coach Scott Davneport's 13-year tenure, Adam Eberhard and Alex Cook paced the team with 19 points each.

No. 4 University of Indianapolis got a game-high 17 points from Jesse Kempson, 14 of which were scored in the second half, en route to a 66-56 win over No. 5 Maryville University. The Greyhounds advance to the GLVC semifinal for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Bellarmine and Indianapolis will battle for a spot in the title tilt with a meeting at 8:30 p.m. CT Saturday in the second semifinal contest.

Semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game at 3:30 p.m. CT.

All-Tournament passes are $45, while Session Flex Passes are $35, allowing you access to any two of the first six sessions, excluding Sunday's finals. Single-session tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students with a valid ID and youth 6-17 in age, while children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge, but must be accompanied by an adult.
