INDIANAPOLIS – Quincy University senior quarterback Andrew Rund, Lindenwood University junior linebacker Drew Seers, and McKendree University senior wide receiver/return specialist Matt Cole have earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honors in football, it was announced by the league office Monday. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Rund, Quincy
Sr., QB, St. Louis, Missouri
Major: Biological Science (Pre-Med)

Team Result: 48-34 win at Southwest Baptist
  • Completed 25 of 34 attempts (.735) for 350 yards with four touchdown passes (39, 4, 18, 39 yards) to four different receivers
  • Posted a passer efficiency rating of 198.8
  • Added nine carries for 36 yards and one touchdown on the ground
  • Three of his five touchdowns came during a 17-point comeback
  • Led Hawks to 529 yards of total offense (375 season average) and 48 points (20.4 average)
  • Earns his first career Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Last Quincy Offensive Player of the Week:  Chris Harris (9/11/17)
 
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Drew Seers, Lindenwood
Jr., LB, St. Louis, Missouri
Major: Business

Team Result: 35-31 win vs. Saginaw Valley State

 
  • Registered 20 tackles, including seven solo stops, in non-conference win
  • Made two tackles for loss and a pair of pivotal stops on third down to force a punt
  • Earns his second career Defensive Player of the Week award (10/7/19)
  • Last Lindenwood Defensive Player of the Week:  Drew Seers (10/7/9)
 
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matt Cole, McKendree
Sr., WR/PR, Chicago, Illinois
Major: Sport Management

Team Result: 42-12 win at William Jewell

 
  • Totaled three punt returns for 95 yards and a score
  • Collected a fourth-quarter punt and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown with just over nine minutes to play
  • Became third player in program history with a punt return and kick return for a touchdown
    Now has four combined special teams touchdowns (three kickoff returns, one punt return), which is second all-time in school history
  • Also had six receptions for 123 yards and two more touchdowns, giving him eight receiving TDs this year to match school’s single-season record set last season by Jalyn Williams
  • Earns his third career Special Teams Player of the Week award (11/15/18, 10/7/19)
  • Last McKendree Special Teams Player of the Week:  Matt Cole (10/7/19)
