INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University freshman distance runner Ashleigh Macleod and University of Indianapolis senior thrower Hilary Paxson have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday. 

WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ashleigh Macleod, Lewis
Fr., Distance, Mishawaka, Indiana
Major: Undecided

Team Competition:  NTS, Notre Dame’s Meyo Invite
 
  • Covered 800 meters in 2 minutes, 10.86 seconds, good for 11th in an NCAA Division I field
  • Effort puts her second in the GLVC and sixth in NCAA Division II, while also ranking third all-time in school history
  • Earns first career GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor
  • Last Lewis Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Allie Heinzer (1/29/19)


WOMEN’S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Hilary Paxson, Indianapolis
Sr., Throws, Liberty Center, Indiana
Major: Exercise Science

Team Competition:  No Team Score, Purdue’s Fred Wilt Open

 
  • Took second in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 19.51 meters
  • Effort marked the third time this season she surpassed 19.0 meters
  • Mark keeps her in second place in the GLVC and fifth in NCAA Division II
  • First career GLVC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
