LOUISVILLE, Ky. – There were 11 GLVC softball standouts that earned All-Midwest Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), three of which were elevated to All-Americans.
The University of Southern Indiana earned two first-team picks in pitcher Jennifer Leonhardt (GLVC Pitcher of the Year) and second baseman Claire Johnson, while Truman State outfielder Christa Reisinger (GLVC Player of the Year) and Drury University outfielder Jacy Ummel both joined the USI duo on the First Team.
Second-team laurels went to Maryville University shortstop Jaclyn Pasakarnis, outfielder Hannah Tolley, and utility-pitcher Alyssa Callans, while the University of Missouri-St. Louis nabbed a pair of honorees in pitcher Andee Tiffee and first baseman Chelsea Martinez. University of Indianapolis pitcher Halie Waters and William Jewell College catcher Courtney Beatty also earned a second-team nod.
Of those eleven regional award winners, Reisinger, Leonhardt, and Johnson picked up All-America status respectively on the first-, second-, and third-team.
