Eleven #GLVCtrack Standouts Named All-Americans at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Eleven Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) representatives garnered a total of 13 All-America accolades, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday, following the conclusion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Kingsville, Texas.
 
Student-athletes earned first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors by virtue of finishing among the top eight in their events, including as a member of a relay.  Second-team honors were bestowed upon those finishing ninth through 12th.
 
Among the highlights, Bellarmine senior high jumper Yashira Rhymer-Stuart – the 2019 NCAA Indoor Champion – placed second in her event with at clearance of 1.73 meters (5-08.00).  Lewis senior thrower Kianna Clark also earned a national runner-up finish with a heave of 57.35 meters (188-02) in the hammer throw.  Her Flyer teammate, senior Cierra Pulliam, was third in the triple jump with a leap of 12.83 meters (42-01.25).
 
Other first-team All-America honors went to a pair of Indianapolis throwers in seniors Austin Hogan and Katie Monk.  Hogan placed sixth in the discus (53.91m/176-10) and seventh in the hammer throw (60.91m/199-10), while Monk placed sixth in the hammer (55.72m/182-10).

In the women’s team standings, Lewis placed tied for 17th with 14 points, followed by Bellarmine tied for 29th with eight points, and UIndy tied for 53rd with three points.  The UIndy men finished tied for 43rd with five points.
A total of 17 student-athletes represented the GLVC at the NCAA Championships.
