INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced recently that the Lindenwood University at McKendree University contest on Oct. 5, has been selected as one of the 18 regular-season football games to be showcased as part of the NCAA Division II Football Showcase during the 2019 season.

Kickoff at Leemon Field, originally slated for 1 p.m. CT, will be moved back a few minutes to 1:05 p.m. The Oct. 5 matchup will also coincide with the Bearcats’ Homecoming weekend.

“We are thrilled that the NCAA has selected the Lindenwood at McKendree contest as one of its Division II Football Showcase games this season,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich.  “Leemon Field is home to our annual GLVC Football Kickoff preseason media event, so it’s fitting that the cameras will return to Lebanon to feature the Bearcats and our newest league member in Lindenwood.”

The McKendree-Lindenwood game is one of 11 contests that will have the flexibility to be carried both on television and online. The division will work with the TV partners of the participating conference and schools on the opportunity to air games on TV. These games will also be distributed online through NCAA social media accounts – specifically, Division II Facebook (facebook.com/ncaadivisionii) and Twitter (@NCAADII) – and through conference and school digital networks. The GLVC Sports Network will originate the broadcast from Lebanon.

"It's always exciting to begin a new academic year and the start of the Division II season," said Terri Steeb Gronau, vice president of Division II. "We're looking forward to highlighting the teams that will be featured in the football showcase and promoting the Division II brand on several platforms for fans to see across the country."
