INDIANAPOLIS – Four league women’s soccer programs earned wins in the 2020-21 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament on Monday, advancing to the semifinals on Friday, April 23, in St. Charles, Mo. The semifinals, as well as the Championship, will be held on the campus of Lindenwood University on April 23-25.
No. 1 McKendree University, No. 2 University of Indianapolis, No. 3 University of Southern Indiana, and No. 5 Quincy University each won their respective quarterfinal match, with two needing double overtime to determine a winner. The second-seeded Greyhounds will play the third-seeded Screaming Eagles at 5 p.m. CT at Hunter Stadium, while the top-seeded Bearcats face the fifth-seeded Hawks at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Monday's quarterfinals were held on the campus of the higher seed.

Twelve seconds before penalty kicks would have decided the quarterfinal between UIndy and Truman on Monday night, Alexi Hardie lifted the Greyhounds (11-3-1) to their first GLVC semifinal since 2009 with her first goal of the season off Maddy Theis found her all alone inside the box. Makaiah Haberkorn, playing in just her second collegiate match between the pipes, made four saves in 109+ minutes for UIndy. In all, Truman recorded 12 shots.

The league’s most potent offense this spring continued to fire on all cylinders on Monday in its quarterfinal, as Southern Indiana (11-3-1) scored three times in the first half before downing Rockhurst, 3-1. Six Screaming Eagles tallied a point in the win, with Katlyn Andres netted her third goal of the season in the 3’ off helpers from Madelyne Juenger and Madeline Weston. Alexis Schone (26’) and Audrey Andrzejewski (37’) added first-half goals, while Taylor Hall was credited with an assist. Rockhurst’s Jillian Leetch recorded her eighth goal of the season in the 55’.

Morgan Evans found the perfect time to score her first goal of the season on Monday, finally sneaking a shot past Lindenwood keeper Sam Blazek in the 103’ to give Quincy (8-4-3) a 1-nil quarterfinal victory. Hawks’ netminder Emilee Autry made five saves herself for the clean sheet, as the back line surrendered 10 Lindenwood shots. The teams combined for nine corner kicks and 28 shots.

No. 8 and top-seeded McKendree (12-2-1) moved on to the GLVC semifinals for the fourth time in five seasons, using a pair of second-half scores from Anna Stiffler to get past Maryville, 2-nil. Both of Stiffler’s goals were unassisted on Monday, as the freshman now has a team-high six this spring. Abby Tucker made six saves for the Bearcats to record her third clean sheet of the season.
