INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Thursday its GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) coverage for the 2021 GLVC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament, which takes place April 30-May 2 at the Jack Oremus Tennis Complex in Romeoville, Illinois, on the campus of Lewis University.

This is the sixth-straight time the Conference tournament will have select matches streamed.

GLVCSN will stream live and free coverage of both the No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles play in one featured men’s and women’s quarterfinal match on Friday. At 9 a.m. Central Time, the women’s No. 1 West seed and GLVC West Division Champion Southwest Baptist University (6-0) will battle No. 4 East seed Lewis (3-3). Following that match, No. 2 East seed Lewis (4-2) will open the men’s tournament against No. 3 West seed University of Missouri-St. Louis (3-2) at approximately 12 p.m. CT.

In the women’s opener between SBU and Lewis, a top-25 doubles pair will be featured in 19th-ranked Constanca Crespo and Dona Abohabaga for the Bearcats, taking on the duo of Rita Pedroso and Casey Smith for the Flyers in No. 1 doubles action. After that, Abohabaga will battle Pedroso on the No. 1 singles court, which will also be covered on GLVCSN. The Bearcats duo have played all but three matches together, compiling a 10-4 record, while the Flyers’ pair hold a 9-3 clip on the season. Pedroso is 8-4 in singles action, while Abohabaga went 9-7.

In men’s competition, GLVCSN viewers will see Lewis’ No. 1 doubles pair of Juan Mejia and David Ambrozic, which went 14-1 during the year, likely facing UMSL’s Ben-Hur Kasprzak and Karl Heinrichs that finished the year at 9-4. At the No. 1 singles, Mejia will most likely take on Kasprzak in the featured court.

John Edwards returns to GLVCSN coverage to call play-by-play throughout the weekend. On Saturday, the winners of Match 1 and 2 will be streamed live on both the men’s and women’s side, respectively at 9 a.m. and approximately 12 p.m. Both GLVC Championship finals will be streamed live with the women at 9 a.m. followed by the men at approximately 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Coverage of the select featured matchups can be seen by logging on to the GLVCSN’s official website, GLVCSN.com, or on the GLVCSN iOS/Android mobile apps, as well as on the Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV OTT platforms.
