EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Two teams remain after three days of action at the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Softball Championship Tournament from the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Ill. After 13 games, the top-two seeds University of Indianapolis and McKendree University will square off on Sunday for the tournament title.

Second-seeded McKendree opened Saturday with a 5-1 victory over fifth-seeded Rockhurst University, sending the Hawks to the elimination bracket. Once top-seeded UIndy disposed of fourth-seeded Maryville University, 8-1, the Greyhounds avenged their Friday loss to the Hawks with an 8-0 victory over Rockhurst and earn a trip to Sunday.

Sunday’s Championship round will begin at 12 p.m. CT from the EastSide Centre. If UIndy wins the opener, a winner-take-all game will take place immediately following to determine the champion.

UPDATE: Start time for game one between UIndy and McKendree is TBD. Severe weather has delayed the first pitch. We will update when possible.
