KANSAS CTY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches recently announced the selections for the Men’s Midwest All-Region Team with 13 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) student-athletes selected to the First, Second, and Third Teams.
GLVC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Sebastian Doppelhofer of Lewis and two other All-GLVC honorees in Lewis sophomore forward Cristian Perez and Maryville senior midfielder Cedric Sengl were named to the First Team.
The Second Team was comprised of Maryville senior goalkeeper Albert Escuin and senior midfielder Emil Antonacci, GLVC Offensive Player of the Year Jason Jorgensen of Missouri S&T, as well as two from Illinois Springfield in senior forward Billy Nzojyibwami and senior midfielder Max Tweddle.
The final five Conference honorees were selected to the Third Team, including Lewis sophomore defender Chalres Carlback, Maryville senior defender Fabian Wetl, as well as three from Indianapolis in GLVC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Pierre Lurot, junior midfielder Michael Tselios, and senior forward Ibo Yilmaz.
