ST. LOUIS – After a brief weather delay in the morning on Saturday, all four semifinal matches were played outdoors in the afternoon at Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri, with three schools advancing to tomorrow’s final match of the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament.
University of Indianapolis advanced on both the men’s and women’s side, while McKendree University men’s team and Southwest Baptist University women’s team did the same. This will be McKendree’s first-ever appearance in the title match and back-to-back trips for Southwest Baptist, while the UIndy men come into Sunday for the eighth-straight time and the Greyhound women will play for the fifth time in the last seven years, looking to win their third consecutive title.
No. 1 East Indianapolis will meet No. 2 East McKendree in the men’s final at 9 AM Central Time, while No. 1 East UIndy and No. 1 West SBU will face one another at approximately 12 PM for the women’s title match.
Both Greyhound teams won 4-0 in their respective semifinal contests, as the men defeated #2W SBU and the women topped #2W Drury University. The men will be looking to be 13-time GLVC Champions, while the women will play for their third-straight Conference crown.
McKendree also swept its semifinal match against #4E Maryville University, 4-0, with SBU women earning a nail-biting win over the Flyers, 4-1.
